K.C. is developing the new Sophia Reinhart series, featuring a world-weary missing persons detective trying to find her way back from a deeply traumatizing experience and a complete loss of faith.
Hobbled by PTSD in the aftermath of a devastating case years ago, Sophia's performance at the helm of the Baltimore County PD's Missing Persons unit has been less than stellar. Her cases-solved rate is way down. She doesn't sleep. She has debilitating nightmares, and she's angry - angry at herself for failing and angry at God for allowing the atrocities she witnesses every day on the job. Sohpia's current case of a missing 15-year-old student at St. Vincent's School for Girls forces Sophia to face her own past and revisit hidden places, where she encounters something very different. Something otherworldly and utterly terrifying.
